Our Journey

As they say, you can’t write if you don’t read! 8th September is celebrated as International Literacy Day, but I wonder why limit it to only a day? My love for reading began early in life and I started to realise the value of books. My father supports a charitable organisation that is dedicated to improving and adding meaning to the lives of the children of leprosy patients in Haridwar.

I visited the school and since they did not have a library, decided to initiate a book donation drive called ‘Donate a Book’. I am grateful that I was able to create a channel through which many people, some known but mostly strangers, continue to donate books of all genres. I am conducting crowdfunding to make shelves to house these books. Today, the Divya Prem Sewa Mission school in Haridwar has a growing library.
