Hello and welcome to Donate a Book! I am thrilled that you stopped by
to get to know the person behind the work and words. My name is Vania
Khanduri and I have a very simple story- I had the means, so I made the effort.
My love for reading began early in life and I started to realise the value of
books. This realisation was a key turning point in my adolescent years. Since
then, I have been on a mission to give a child with lesser to no accessibility,
some opportunity.
I am currently in my second year at O.P. Jindal Global University, pursuing BBA(Hons.). I started this initiative when I was in the ninth grade at The Shri Ram School, Aravali. Both, nature and nurture, have played a big role in sensitising me to the situations of those less privileged than myself and I feel humbled to have been given the resources and sensibility to help empower the youth.
While reading has been my favourite intellectual activity, my first love was painting. Before getting my written alphabet right, I mastered drawing straight lines which many years later translated into me becoming Secretary and then Head of the Art Society in my school. Being an artist, one can be believed to have more creative talents. Mine would include music and dance. Just something I enjoy! I am also an animal lover, have two dogs of my own and am a member of the Animal Welfare Society in my college. Soon after reading became my hobby, writing became my strength.
Over the course of this book collection drive, many have been thoughtful enough to share a personal message alongside the books they have given. I do wish I had opened this page sooner and published their kind and encouraging words for the children as well as this movement, but better late than never, right?
